INFECTVAGIN Class III device is a device capable of destroying pathogenic microorganisms but non-aggressive towards lactobacilli. The increase in bacterial resistance to antibiotics makes the treatment of infections difficult; inappropriate use of antibiotic therapy is the most common cause of the emergence and development of resistant strains.
Pathogens associated with bacterial cystitis, vaginitis and vaginosis all have a tendency to form BIOFILM. This explains non-response to antibiotic and antifungal treatments (Metronidazole/Clindamycin) and is responsible for resistance, recurrences and chronicity. The use of a device with disinfectant effect and thus broad antimicrobial action should be preferred over antibiotic therapy. Antibiotic therapy has been shown to destroy lactobacilli.
