NEOIAL HC is a medical device developed for intra-articular use. It is used for the intended use information related to joint symptoms in osteoarthritis and in cases of limited mobility due to degenerative or traumatic changes in joints such as the knee, hip, and shoulder. It acts by increasing the viscoelastic properties of synovial fluid. A formulation based on highly purified sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid), enriched with silkworm-derived recombinant collagen, with two different molecular weights.
Silkworm Recombinant Collagen: The collagen in Neoial HC is recombinant collagen obtained by a team of biologists from Hiroshima University. Researchers replaced the gene producing fibroin in the silkworm with the gene producing human collagen. The commercially named Neosilk collagen obtained this way has: • Extremely low risk of allergic reaction due to 99.9% similarity to human collagen • 100% solubility and immediate bioavailability • Most importantly, the capacity to stimulate proliferation of new cartilage cells. Effect on Cell Proliferation: Tests on human knee cartilage chondrocytes showed a significant difference between treated cells and the control group after 24 and 48 hours, indicating a strong effect on cell proliferation.
